Alexis Gautier 'Stair's Legend' (2016) handwoven and handbuilt tapestry in natural wool made in collaboration with local craftspeople in Lamjung Bhujung, Nepal. Exhibited as part of Blue Projects' inaugural exhibition Stairs, Zebra, Bees and Light Purple Jackets by Alexis Gautier in 2018.

Created using a specialised process of weaving on a back loom and felting the textile over a period of two days. All colouring is natural sheep wool. The graphic pattern is woven into the textile, featuring grey and black marl motifs that depict the making process of the work.

Features cream body, integrated grey and black marl motifs, graphic black border, selvedge edge, and incorporated fringe finish.
